Vanitas et omnia vanitas vanitatum
In this text I will explain who, or rather, what is a man. I will try to show that - from a scientific point of view - a human being is something common and worth little, even a "vanity of vanities" ("vanitas vanitatum "). In formulating the various arguments, I will only be based on fundamental and irrefutable scientific facts with which most readers probably already encountered at school biology classes. From these facts emerges because the image of man as a material object, the meaning of existence is the metabolism of other organisms. I do not wish a pleasant reading, because these truths are not pleasant.
human Definition
man is any organism of the species Homo sapiens, which is more or less the whole and with its own genetic code. The organism is brought to life by his father's sperm penetrated the egg mother, and then gradually develops in accordance with the "line of software" stored in an individual DNA. The human being is made up of cells that comes with age (it is easy to calculate that initially the cells are only two, and then there's a more and more). Cells are made of atoms, and these - with electrons and two types of nucleons (protons and neutrons).

As you know, an atom is the smallest particle of matter, because the man who built the structure of atoms, is no different from other such structures. Is it a human being, whether a bee or a opossum, whether air or a fig leaf or a piece of flooring, whether a machine gun or a tank, whether it abacus, or a wafer, or whiskey, if it white wine, be it urine, or the mud, either snake venom or a dog blood, feces, or a cat or a water Narew - everything in the universe consists of atoms, and nothing more. In nature, nothing is lost!
Atoms travel the world and - as rightly pointed out one of my former teachers - chances are that make up our chemical elements included in the composition of the bodies once the dinosaurs. I think that I should finally ask the biblical question: "What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?". These words, though out of context, has always reminded me of an excuse, not a philosophical reflections.

PS The views expressed in this article can be compared with those which I expressed in my literary texts two years ago. It would be a story, "Honor, Power and Independence" (February 2009) and a theatrical performance, "Professor Kuznetsov and his works" (December 2009).
PS2. the lessons of biology taught me that identical twins have identical DNA, and differ only in phenotype, which is shaped appearance by environmental factors. Does this mean that the twins were one and the same being, only divided into two separate parts? Or, according to genetics, Lech Kaczynski, was identified with Jaroslaw Kaczynski (the same DNA, but different phenotype)? It is highly likely, if one takes into account the emergence of twin pregnancy: Homo sapiens in the earliest stages of prenatal life is only one institution and then divides into two. Since identical twins are one person split into two parts, whether it should be understood that - from the genetic point of view - the same person was also the president and the Polish prime minister?
PS3. Is views, which concluded in the article "There is no existence beyond matter" are materialistic? Absolutely. This is the so-called vulgar materialism. But I must admit that I do not like the word "materialism", as in ordinary language it means recognition of the tangible and primitive pastimes for most cases (the bourgeois mentality: PJN - Money is the most important). And make me such an attitude is alien.
